Matthew James is committed to your satisfaction, and we understand that over time jewelry styles may evolve, budgets may change and personal tastes may shift. For this reason, we offer a generous jewelry trade-in policy to allow our customers the opportunity to change out and upgrade their jewelry as they please. There are three ways to participate in our jewelry trade-in program:

Trade in Your Jewelry

Matthew James is happy to consider customer-owned items that represent a need in our inventory towards new merchandise. An associate will need to assess merchandise in person to determine the trade value. To begin an inquiry, please call or text 516-561-3080.

For jewelry trade-ins, each item's value is dependent on an associate's evaluation and is not guaranteed.

Exchange Your Gold for Cash

If you have gold, platinum or sterling silver jewelry that you don't wear anymore, we'll give you cash or a credit for new merchandise to be used the same day.

Ship Merchandise Directly to our Store location (Upon Approval)
Or we can even come out to our local customers for In-Home appraisals (Per Appointment),
and we will inspect, clean, weigh and determine a value based on current precious metal values. We accept all gold purities of 10K and above, including yellow gold, white gold and rose gold.

How Cash for Gold Works

Visit us in-store: Stop by and our appraisers will assess your gold jewelry and give you a value; no appointment needed. There is no limit to the number of items you can bring in.

Choose cash or credit:

After you've been given a value for your gold, you decide if you want to take the amount in cash or in the form of trade value towards a purchase in-store. Cash is offered on the spot, and store credit will be valid up to a year from the accepted offer date (NOTE: We offer 5% more on offers accepted in store credit). The trade value is not valid on previously purchased items or online purchases.

How to ship out your jewelry for evaluation:

First, get in contact with one of our store associates. Upon approval, one of our staff members we'll send you a shipping label and empty pouch to store all of your jewelry in. shipped jewelry will be insured throughout transit and evaluated under strict surveillance. please allow 24 - 48 hours after arrival to our store to receive an offer from one of our appraisers. you have the right to accept and deny any offer. Payout method will be arrange between you and the associate.
